Institute For Behavior & Health
The Institute for Behavior and Health, located at 11140 Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland, is a non-profit organization founded in 1978. Led by Drs. Robert and Caroline DuPont, the institute focuses on developing new ideas to reduce illegal drug use. Through non-partisan and non-political efforts, IBH serves as a catalyst for change by facilitating collaboration between public and private sectors. With a mission to promote practical and affordable ideas to combat drug abuse, IBH conducts original analyses of national data sets on youth substance use behaviors. The institute advocates for a clear youth prevention message of "One Choice": to refrain from using alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, or other drugs under the age of 21 for reasons of health. This message is supported by research on the unique vulnerability of the developing brain in adolescents.
