The history of the land where Blandair Regional Park is located is rich and diverse, with Native American tribes, European settlers, and enslaved African Americans all having lived and worked on the land over the centuries. The park's name, "Blandair," comes from Theodorick Bland, who purchased the land in 1844 as a country retreat. The property changed hands several times over the years, with various families owning and living on the land.
