"I began care with a counselor at this practice hoping to process through a current issue I'm experiencing and to establish care during a (first) pregnancy to make sure I had someone to talk with during my post-partum experience (to help prevent PPD/PPA) After a few sessions with my provider, Jasmine (who I really liked and found very helpful) Connie - the owner and Jasmine's supervisor - read through my intake and our session notes and decided completely out of context and without any explanation that I was "high risk for self-harm" and required a "trauma treatment specialist" so she immediately ceased all care from her clinic - and after multiple attempts on my part to get in touch with her and discuss this - I was just told "go find someone else. I don't have time to talk with you" This is all (I'm assuming) based on me having an experience in my 20s which I subsequently received therapy for - from a trauma treatment therapist... and am no longer experiencing trauma from. This was unrelated to my current therapy needs - and I have never been, nor am I now - at risk for self-harm. I feel that Connie exhibits unethical practices at her clinic, and I've since reported her to the MD board as I believe the words that were shared with me - and the subsequent lack of communication and complete cut-off from therapeutic care without warning could be severely detrimental to someone. This is my own personal experience with Time of Need - but I wanted to give other people a warning before they try to establish care at this clinic - in case you actually are feeling emotionally/mentally vulnerable and don't want to risk further damage to yourself."
