Soldiers Delight Natural Environment Area, located at 5100 Deer Park Road in Owings Mills, Maryland, is a 1,900-acre park and tourist attraction managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. This unique area is home to over 39 rare, threatened, or endangered plant species, as well as rare insects, rocks, and minerals. Visitors can explore seven miles of marked hiking trails, but equestrians and cyclists are prohibited to protect the sensitive environment. The park is currently undergoing a five-year effort to remove invasive Virginia Pines and restore the natural serpentine habitat.
