Dewey Local Park
Dewey Local Park, located at 11720 Dewey Road in Silver Spring, Maryland, is a popular tourist attraction that underwent renovations in 2020. The park features a multi-age-themed playground with a perimeter “Trike Track,” a picnic shelter, a 22,000-square-foot lighted dog park, a 2,400-square-foot outdoor fitness station, and a street hockey/futsal facility developed in partnership with the Washington Capitals. Additionally, there is a soccer field, a renovated Rock Creek Trail, public art murals, and additional parking. The park also boasts a fully accessible combination soccer and in-line hockey court, a separate area for small and large dogs with amenities such as covered seating, waste bags, and water bowls. The facility is open from 7 am to 8 pm daily, with maintenance closure on Tuesdays from 7 am to 11 am.
East Norbeck Local Park
East Norbeck Local Park, located at 3131 Norbeck Road in Silver Spring, Maryland, is a popular tourist attraction for visitors of all ages. The picnic pavilion is dedicated to the memory of Steve's late mother, Brenda Wilson Bryant, while the basketball court pays tribute to Tony Langley, the long-time president of the Takoma Park Boys and Girls Club.
