The Outdoor Aquatic Center in College Park, Maryland is a lively and enjoyable space for aquatic activities in the sun. Whether you want to swim laps, play sand volleyball, or simply relax on the pool deck, the OAC is the perfect place to stay active during the warmer months. University Recreation & Wellness (RecWell) rules are in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Due to limited availability, rentals for the OAC are limited. Parking on campus is regulated by UMD’s Department of Transportation Services. The OAC will open if the forecasted air temperature is 65 degrees or higher for the day, and will close at 5pm if the temperature drops below 65 degrees. In the event of thunder or lightning, pools will close for 30 minutes and reopen after the storm has passed. In the event of a tornado, patrons are encouraged to evacuate to the ERC basement for safety.
