The Order of Isshinryu Martial Arts Hombu Dojo, located at 1101 East Pulaski Highway in Elkton, Maryland, is a health institution dedicated to promoting physical fitness, self-defense, and spiritual growth through the practice of martial arts. Established in 1971, the OI Martial Arts is a non-profit organization that offers a blend of traditional martial arts training to students of all ages and skill levels. Eastern Shore Isshinryu Karate School, LLC is a martial arts institution located at 201 Talbot Boulevard in Chestertown, Maryland, United States. The school was founded in September 2013 by an experienced martial artist who began his journey in the late 1980s and worked his way to a Black Belt. After retiring from a 36-year career at Dixon Valve and Coupling Co in June 2020, he decided to open his own school in a new location. In October 2020, the founder was promoted to 6th Degree Black Belt, Master Level by his Instructor Grandmaster Phil Little in Anderson, SC. He was also appointed as a Board Member of the United States Isshinryu Karate Association in October 2021. The school moved to its current location in Chestertown in September 2023.
