She is a balm to my soul. Shinelle is down to earth, intuitive, funny, wise, and empathetic. Sessions with her are transformative. I always walk out of her office and take action on what we discussed. She consistently offers me a fresh, positive perspective and instructions on how to cope. That has allowed me to process and overcome many, many difficulties. Shinelle gives me the space I need to find my truth and her wise, practical advice to help me effectively manage my relationships. They have never been better than when I'm seeing Shinelle regularly. Now, I'll admit. It can be a challenge to get an appointment, but don't let that deter you. Once you're in, it will change your life for the better."

"It’s good to know I’m not the only one experiencing issues getting a response. I was seeing someone for a couple months then my therapist stopped booking sessions after I was wrongly charged for a no-show fee. I’ve been contacting through email and phone trying to start my sessions again. I was told it would be looked into and nothing at all and when I call it always says I’ve reached them after hours when it’s 2 in the afternoon."

"Been using their services for two years and everything was fine until last month. I was discharged because there is a policy that says I need to schedule a session within 30 days. I was not made aware of this. I decided to ask for another therapist but have yet to get a response. I asked on Tuesday. Today is Friday. Communication should be way more seamless especially when offering therapy services."

"I was looking for a therapist that could meet my needs and I found one, unfortunately Urban Counseling is very unprofessional when it comes to getting back to new clients. It took almost 2 months of back and forward emails and calls just for someone to call me back and say they can’t authorize my insurance even though they accept Carefirst and they told me if I move forward with an appointment it would be considered out of network although it’s not. I do not recommend this clinic for therapy, you will waste your time."
