Located at 1601 Coralie Court in Pasadena, Maryland, this institution focuses on building upon traditional belly dance techniques with influences from Modern, Cabaret, Flamenco, Indian, African, and Folkloric dance styles. Instructor Despina Bast, who has been dancing since the age of 7, brings her passion for movement and communication to her classes and performances. Classes are held in a private studio with a maximum of six students, allowing for personalized attention and instruction. Students will learn proper belly dance techniques and how to incorporate them into choreographed dances, as well as the use of props such as silk veils, trays, fans, and scimitars. Classes run in ongoing six-week sessions, with drop-in rates of $20 per class or $85 for a full session.
