Southern Area Aquatics and Recreation Complex (SAARC) is a unique multi-generational recreation complex located at 13601 Missouri Avenue in Brandywine, Maryland. Designed with every member of the family in mind, from preschoolers to grandparents, SAARC offers a wide range of activities and programs for all ages. The facility features a 25-yard six-lane pool, a leisure pool, a fun flume slide, a spa pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center with circuit weight and cardiovascular equipment. The architecture of SAARC is inspired by a 150-year-old willow oak tree, with elements of the tree incorporated throughout the building. The outdoor sculpture "The Guardians" by artist Judy Sutton Moore pays homage to the majestic oak tree, while the mosaic work titled "Waters Promise" by artist Heidi Lippman adds a burst of color and beauty to the entrance of SAARC.
