"My son has been coming to Kinera for just over a year. I cannot say enough about this organization. The staff is kind, gentle, understanding and patient. Most of all their passion to help shows in all they do. I was lost and so was my son the day I called. Kate was absolutely wonderful and asked me questions that were so individual to our needs. I didn’t feel like a person on a list. I felt HEARD. My son has made a lot of progress. He did have a setback for a few weeks and rather than try to change him they literally changed their approach. Read that again. THEY changed THEIR approach. I was so grateful they didn’t make him feel like a problem. They put their heads together and gave us solid suggestions and they WORKED. My son in thriving. If you’re unsure, take it from me and give them a chance. Their staff is just amazing and we are so grateful we found them!!! Miss Sandi is an absolute angel. "I am connected professionally with Kinera as a community resource, but more importantly, I am connected personally as a volunteer. I honestly cannot say enough about the support and education provided by this organization! I started volunteering at special events with my son when he was 11. I wanted to educate him on the importance of service to our community. That was three years ago, and he still asks, “When is the next Kinera event?” He is now 13 and feels connected to this group, almost a responsibility to assist in providing positive experiences. The Kinera staff are personable and professional, getting to know clients and their families so they can provide the best possible care and resources. While working the “Trunk or Treat” event last year, I saw the excitement and pride of families attending, knowing they were in a safe space to have fun! I also saw my son approach the Fire Truck when they arrived and asked them not to turn on the siren as it could startle some of the participants. This type of information could only have been gathered from him listening to the staff and understanding the importance of care and consideration of those with different needs.
