β OpenRachel Carson Conservation Park is a 650-acre park located at 22201 Zion Road in Brookeville, Maryland, United States. This park is dedicated to environmental preservation and provides opportunities for visitors to enjoy the natural environment. With over six miles of natural surface trails for hiking and equestrian use, it is one of the county's premier conservation areas. The park is named after renowned environmentalist and biologist Rachel Carson, who lived in Montgomery County and wrote her famous book, Silent Spring, while residing near the Northwest Branch Stream Valley. Carson's work on the devastating impacts of the pesticide DDT helped launch the modern environmental movement and led to the banning of DDT.
