Owner Debbie was lovely and we have been back several times each time she is polite, always a smile on her face and goes that extra mile with the guys I have with me. “We stopped at Smoak for breakfast before our children’s final rugby game of the season. The coffee was fantastic, as was the service. The children had flavoured hot chocolates (Terrys chocolate orange and a vanilla), they described them as the best ever! The food was amazing, my wife and I had the famous pastrami bagels and they did not disappoint. Pastrami was full of flavour, the dressing was a fine accompaniment and the gherkin was just right. The kids had something simpler, but they all enjoyed what they had. Well worth a visit!”

“A charming place with a warm welcome, pleasant atmosphere and good food and coffee. Didn't get chance to try the ice cream parlour after my full English breakfast but shall do next time I'm in there! The staff were attentive and helpful. Car park across the road and bus stop outside make it easily accessible. Five stars!”

“I really liked this spot, only popped in for a coffee and a snack but will definitely be back again. They had a choice of a few different vegan cannolis, I got a cappuccino flavoured one and it went perfect with my latte. The food menu looked great so will be back to try some of their vegan options. The atmosphere was very chilled and cozy and the staff were lovely :)”

“What an absolutely lovely little cafe. Such lovely staff, friendly atmosphere. Food is cooked fresh for you and you get generous portions. The coffee is absolutely lovely and not expensive. Will be my regular cafe from now on.”

“Really charming little cafe. We were in Manchester for an event and stopped in here as somewhere local to where we were staying. Rather than just being a convenient place to eat Sunday brunch, the menu was varied and all of us enjoyed the meals we ordered. The staff were lovely, really friendly. Would definitely recommend.”

“Manchester on a Sunday Morning for Bruch was a lot busier than we thought. Luckily we got a table at Idle Hands. I'm super glad we did. Lovely atmosphere. We ordered and shared: Meaty Hash Brown Stack and Divorced Eggs. Both tasted fantastic. Food came quickly and was presented like a work of art. It was so good, I really can't recommend it enough. I ordered one of their famous pies and can tell why. I got the Banana Milk Pie and it was so light and creamy. Top marks.”

“Only had cake and a drink but service was quick and friendly. Breakfasts looked fantastic and the number of people ordering them speaks volumes for popularity and quality, so don't believe you'd be disappointed. Would recommend and likely have a breakfast next time!”

“Lovely little brunch spot, don’t let the queues and wait time tune you off it’s well worth it. I had steak and eggs with a batch filter and a Bloody Mary. Steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Coffees were tasty and Bloody Mary hit the spot. Can’t remember what my partner had but it was also delicious. Offers on the cocktails. “A warm relaxing ambience , open mic nights, a VERY reasonable variety of 'non-coffee' beverages - on Draught, bottle or can, a variety of comfortable seating, some basic dining options with any manner of takeaways welcomed, clean restrooms... need I go on? And they have great coffee! Excellent place to chill with friends.”

Nice ambience ( although a little loud at times when it got busy as no soft furnishings ) Will definitely go again .”
