Gauntlet Birds of Prey – Eagle & Vulture Park, Knutsford
“We went last Saturday, with our two grand children, aged 9 +11. We all had an absolutely fantastic day. The handlers were so informative about all the birds, and the history, and present day plight of Vultures in the wild was described in a caring manner. If you do go, whatever you do, don't miss the 3pm flying display, it was awesome. The kids fed the goats, and really enjoyed the meerkat's too.”
Mayfield Park
“Truly one of the most stunning city parks I’ve seen. Love the mixture of industrial features interlinked with nature. A delight to behold and a park to treasure. With its fantastic play park, the river meandering its way throughout and it’s fantastic facilities (2x incredible disabled loos,) it will be a much loved open space for the people of Manchester and the surrounding area. Well done to all involved in its creation and preservation.”
Unagi Street Food & Sushi Manchester
“Parked at the carpark next door and thought we-d try it out before leaving the city centre and it was the best sushi we've had in a while. Would defo recommend this place, what a great little gem. The food was nice and fresh and the staff were super friendly and very helpful.”
Dovestone Holiday Park
“Lovely holiday park. Sally and her team were superb and very professional. We stayed in one of the glamping pods. It was clean and suited us for the couple days. The environment was very quiet and calm when we were there(Easter weekend 22).Felt safe as well, frequent checks were done by security around the site. There's lots to explore in and around the area. The local Tesco is just a stone throw away. Our son enjoyed himself and that was the whole idea. Will visit this park again.”

Marbury Country Park
“I haven't been to the park for a while, I really enjoyed it. Lots of areas have been deliberately left to go wild. There is also a lovely new playground. Lots of work going on to improve it.”
Heaton Park
“Went on a windy cold January day and the park was magnificent!!! It’s only 4 miles from Manchester and on a clear day you can see the Mancunian towers and buildings from the hilltops. There’s a tram stop just beside it so very easy to go to. Wasn’t too crowded at all probably because of the wind. The animals were out and about enjoying the little sun they could find. The gardens are well kept. Some of the food stalls were closed but the cafe and pub were both open for food and drinks”
Astley Park
“Fantastic park. Well-maintained, excellent facilities, onsite cafe & great wine/farm shop. Suitable for all ages. Woodland, open green spaces and a gorgeous lake with water fountain. This park has it all. Astley Hall is also a beautiful building and looks amazing after the refurb. We had a great night for the fireworks (pictures attached)...a little muddy under foot but that's expected after a wet week. A brilliant urban park.”
Chorlton Water Park
“Nice easy walk around the lake (takes about 20mins) which can be made longer by by going off around the forest and following the river. Went in March so was all a bit brown but can imagine it’s lovely in Summer.”

“Lovely country park, nice walk around the duck ponds and up to the waterfall, the forest is lovely to explore too. Parking ok, it gets busy at weekends and school holidays but we usually always manage to park up, there are toilets on both ends of the park which is handy with small kids, the cafe is nice too, reasonably priced and good selection. We usually buy duck food from the cafe to feed the ducks with.”
Alexandra Park - Oldham
“Oldham Summer Beach 2022 Kids loved it! Recommend the wrist band so they can go on all the bounce stations without paying extra. No queues today even though weather really good. The fairground rides were cash prices additional as you would expect but the bouncy castles and slides were enough for my lot”
Brabyns Park
“lovely park to visit all year round, even better in autumn with the falling leaves”
Worthington Park
“I take my 2 young grandchildren regularly to this lovely park. My only issue is the number of dog walkers, often with several dogs each. As it is a park that is well used by families I feel that dogs should be kept on a lead. Otherwise it's a beautiful local asset.”
Peel Park
“Really great place to walk or jog. Also beside the river, so it's good to bring some seeds for the birds.”
Strinesdale Country Park
“Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”
Chadderton Hall Park
“It’s nice park, usually go for a walk with my daughter, she loves it too.”
Bramhall Park
“Great house to visit. Fascinating history and great interior and good walks. Odd cafe system forced us to eat a meal outside but could have eaten inside if we had only had cake. So Odd!!!”
Clifton Country Park
“Great place. Our two kids loved it. Nice big play area and several different walking routes. Toilets and small cafe in the car park.”
John Leigh Park
“A great place to walk a dog. I've been going to john Leigh park since for ever. The path all round is a great little walk. It has two park areas for the kids. One for bigger kids then further round one for the younger kids which has a fence all around it. It has a small aviary. There are always loads of people there when it's a sunny day and the ice cream man parks up in it on warm days too. It has tennis courts/ football/ and basketball courts. It is a very popular place with dog walkers so not a place to go if petrified of dogs.”
Vernon Park Cafe
“Lovely little cafe, had a walk in the park with my family then found the café very friendly and warm, staff are many adults with learning difficulties which was so lovely as my youngest son has Downs syndrome. Food was good and the coffee was hot, my son enjoyed the freely available paper and pencils”

“Ruby & Grace were wonderful party hosts- they made it so easy and were super organised. These girls were really easy to interact with, lots of smiles and lovely personality. They even made sure that a little one with dietary requirements had everything right which was brilliant. Thank you girls! Jesse really enjoyed himself! The only thing that would have taken it to the next level would have been a few party games in the party room. Thanks again!”
