“Dr Perkins is definitely the best doctor around with out a doubt. Dr Perkins goes above a beyond when it comes too making sure that everyone in he’s surgery get the best level of care and medication to his best ability an always gives 110%. Dr Perkins is as always very friendly an professional never rush my appointment ever. (Unlike some other GP’s that I have been too in the passed.) Dr Perkins deserve recognition for his dedication an extra time he puts in to his work thank you Dr Perkins practiced, the secretary do a very good job considering the very high demand for applications ever day .”

“Friendly, helpful and well informed staff take a personal interest in their clients. If they are unable to provide a particular requirement, they research the matter thoroughly. I have found the performance of the National Health Service to be less effective. Well is taking up the slack!!!”

“Never any issues, I fill in an online form and get a call back from the Dr same day. I can always get one of the emergency appointments no problem if its something more pressing. Never any problems with prescriptions either”

“Having had 2 pair of hearing aids in the past, I decided I did not want to pay £3000+ again and asked my gp to go NHS. My referral gave me two choices , I chose Beacon medical group. I was assessed within 2 weeks and fitted with new hearing aids a week later. As I said despite paying privately in the past I almost always had a level of irritation which never really went away and that was the biggest disincentive to wearing hearing aids ! The NHS audiologist was quite thorough and although only time will tell , my hearing aids were comfortable right from the start ! I would recommend the Beacon med. services and my audiologist to anyone .”

“I want to start this review off by saying I will solely be reviewing my subject tutors in English lit, geography and biology as well as how I found the courses and the class environment. English lit is an extremely interesting and fun subject especially during class discussions, the environment in the class room is lovely and you don’t feel embarrassed if you don’t understand something, David is an excellent teacher, he is incredibly supportive particularly in his feedback and he explains the topic perfectly. David’s support has allowed me to develop my writing skills which has undoubtedly been valuable in other subjects such as geography. Geography has A LOT of case studies and facts you need to remember but it is an overall interesting and exciting topic that gives you a lot of insight on your environment, Tracy is wonderful, our class discussions are always interesting with her experiences and facts alongside her encouragement which has provided additional ideas I have used in exams and essays as well as day to day life. The environment in geography is comfortable allowing for the class to connect and allow ourselves to join in on discussions. Biology is an extremely hard subject particularly the exams, to study the subject you need to work hard and complete a lot of practice questions and past papers, Isobel is the perfect teacher for this sort of subject. I don’t want to diminish my science teachers in highschool but Isobel is the best science teacher I have ever had the honour to have. She is extremely kind, supportive and knowledgeable, she is excellent at teaching you difficult topics and if you don’t understand something she will go above and beyond to make time for you outside of class and provide you with A LOT of resources. My entire room is past biology papers and diagrams which actually helped a lot in my studies. The environment is amazing I have never felt more comfortable in a room with real animal bones in my life, and that is due to Isobels impact on the atmosphere I am going to miss all my classes but the friendships I have formed in biology in particular is something I will miss the most I cannot recommend a better teacher for the topic who, even in the middle of covid went one step further to pre record classes if video calls were unavailable. I am going to Plymouth to study geography and it is thanks to the teachers that I am able to remain passionate about my studies. I am hoping to take a another course in the future that may combine geography and biology such as zoology. I cannot speak for all students but my experience at this college has been wonderful due to the environment these teachers have created.”

“I have been coming to this practice since being a small child over 20 years now, the staff are very friendly and always extremely helpful. Had a telephone appointment this morning and was asked to come in to the practice not long after. Excellent COVID measures in place, the doctors are always very efficient and I was even seen 10 minutes early! Thank you for continuously working hard.”

“Over the last 2 years the NHS have been trying to protect people from Covid so of course tensions will be high but the staff here have always been helpful and friendly even when I've been stood in the queue and people walk in with an attitude demanding medication that hasn't arrived yet but at no fault of the staff. To those with 1 star reviews show some respect then you'll get it back.”

“I have a chronic illness so speak to the doctor 4 times a year. I like that I can book in using the online system, and contact that way, instead of phoning and waiting. If I do phone, the receptionists are polite and efficient. I have had appointments with lots of different doctors here and have always had a positive experience. They listen and really try their best to help me with any medical issue. I would recommend this GP to friends or people new to the area.”

“This has been my doctors since being a baby and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the staff at this surgery. I’ve been away at university in Leicester for 4 years and the service was appalling. All practices are overwhelmed and limited funding yet pennine medical centre manage this incredible well. The receptionists are polite and helpful and the doctors/nurses are super willing to help. Not had any issue with the practice ever! If you’re unhappy with service here I honestly suggest trying other doctors practices and you’ll soon realise how great this one is!”

“Adswood pharmacy provides me my medications (for last few years) via they're delivery service. I very rarely have to wait for an out of stock item and my prescription is always delivered on time. I have always received polite service if I have had to phone them over another which is rare. The delivery driver is always pleasant and patient waiting for me to answer the door (wheelchair user). I have read some negative reviews of the pharmacy but I honestly have never had a problem with them.”

“I have been helped over the years, many times, by Dr Tang. Recently I have had acupuncture, cupping, massage and herbs, which have gradually removed the excruciating pain of an attack of shingles, and have helped with other associated problems. Some problems are complex and take time to heal, so one needs to have patience and a positive frame of mind. In the past I have had difficult problems for which I have had to resort to conventional medicine, but in this case I have found relief and help in a way which is not offered under the NHS. We are so used to having our treatment 'free' under the NHS, that we feel that private treatment of any kind is very expensive. However, no one in the NHS is able to give the time, attention and personal support which we can receive through Chinese and other forms of complementary therapy. My own GP, indeed, is happy for me to use acupuncture, he has observed operations carried out using acupuncture, successfully, as an alternative to anaesthesia.”
