Swans Pool
● Open35 Higher Fence Road, Macclesfield SK10 1QF, United Kingdom“I like it here. A medium sized pond with a view up to the hills, on a quiet gravel road. Sometimes the cows come down to the water's edge, or the mist makes the whole scene gorgeous. Mallards, tufted ducks, coots, the occasional goosander, heron and kingfisher. Flocks of geese in the fields often. Swans nest here in the summer.”

Heaton Park
● Closed“Went on a windy cold January day and the park was magnificent!!! It’s only 4 miles from Manchester and on a clear day you can see the Mancunian towers and buildings from the hilltops. There’s a tram stop just beside it so very easy to go to. Wasn’t too crowded at all probably because of the wind. The animals were out and about enjoying the little sun they could find. The gardens are well kept. Some of the food stalls were closed but the cafe and pub were both open for food and drinks”

Astley Park
● OpenPark Road, Chorley PR7 1RF, United Kingdom“Fantastic park. Well-maintained, excellent facilities, onsite cafe & great wine/farm shop. Suitable for all ages. Woodland, open green spaces and a gorgeous lake with water fountain. This park has it all. Astley Hall is also a beautiful building and looks amazing after the refurb. We had a great night for the fireworks (pictures attached)...a little muddy under foot but that's expected after a wet week. A brilliant urban park.”

Etherow Country Park
● OpenGeorge Street, Compstall, Romiley, Stockport SK6 5JD, United Kingdom“Lovely country park, nice walk around the duck ponds and up to the waterfall, the forest is lovely to explore too. Parking ok, it gets busy at weekends and school holidays but we usually always manage to park up, there are toilets on both ends of the park which is handy with small kids, the cafe is nice too, reasonably priced and good selection. We usually buy duck food from the cafe to feed the ducks with.”

Strinesdale Country Park
● OpenOldham OL4 2JJ, United Kingdom“Absolutely love Strinesdale foot paths and 2 large Reservoir's that allow fishing. It also has free parking and is that vast of a space you can walk round it and not bump in to anyone. Strinesdale also has a few picnic areas and amazing views out to the Pennines. There are 3 different routes you can take for that casual stroll or if you are looking to explore of the beat and track you can end up right in the hills and come out at a little farm house. All in all this is one of my favourite places to walk my dog and would recommend it to anyone.”

Dunwood Park
● OpenSmallbrook Road, Shaw, Oldham OL2 7UQ, United Kingdom“The park is so quiet and peaceful. For those who haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. It has a short maze for kids to go through, a play area and a rock climbing area too. It has a Café and a small garden that you can look in to. I used to work there and we thought of many ideas. We wanted to open it up as a public place which I tried to do by inviting people in when I was there working, but now, it's like it's a bit forgotten... I don't know if the people who have access to it are still working on it or not, but it would be great if they are, because maybe after Covid, we could get together again and see how we can re-do it. I had some quite good ideas, and I think that if we start to work there again, we can see if we can open it up as a nice place for absolutely everyone, maybe mine the other people who working there ideas can still work out. Thank you for reading this review on Dunwood Park.”
