Established in 1939, it provides a popular family camping destination with 12 lean-tos, 10 tent sites, and 3 group sites. The campground has natural water sources, but no spigots, so all water should be treated. There are no showers, only outhouses available. Campers must check in at the gate by 8:30 PM on their first night. Campsite check-in time is 1:00 PM for regular sites and 2:00 PM for cabins. Most campgrounds are open from May 15 onwards (conditions permitting). The campground offers various activities such as hiking, swimming, canoeing, fishing, and skiing. Visitors need to bring their own supplies, including cooking utensils, bedding, and food, as there are no stores within Baxter Park.
