East Point Sanctuary
● OpenEast Point Sanctuary, located in Biddeford, Maine, United States, is a 27-acre park and tourist attraction known for being one of the best birding locations in southern Maine. With over 260 different bird species spotted within the sanctuary, it is a haven for bird enthusiasts. In the summer, visitors can see birds nesting in the forests and meadows, including Black-capped Chickadees, Gray Catbirds, and Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. Offshore, the waters off the point are a feeding ground for several species of tern, Common Eider, Northern Gannett, Black Scoter, and other seabirds. During the winter months, the sanctuary is visited by species such as Common Loon, Black Guillemot, Bufflehead, Razorbill, Long-tailed Duck, and Snowy Owls. The sanctuary is free and open to the public year-round, from dawn to dusk, but dogs are not allowed as they can disrupt wildlife. Parking is limited at the end of Lester B. Orcutt Blvd., with room for about 6 cars.
