Our specialized health department is dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and managing genetic disorders in children. Genetic disorders are conditions caused by abnormalities in DNA, which can manifest at birth or develop as a child grows. At Children's Hospital New Orleans, we recognize the complex nature of these disorders, which may be inherited or influenced by environmental factors. Our department offers a wide range of specialty clinics, including those for cleft lip/palate, Down syndrome, neurofibromatosis, connective tissue disorders, PKU, and other metabolic disorders.
