“Fantastic food and great service. Been a couple of times now and I really rate the food here - it is quite high end for a local Indian restaurant. My only issue is the atmosphere is a bit too sterile - lighting is too bright and the decor is nice but a bit cold. 5 stars for food and service though. Will be back!”

“We went for a Sunday brunch to this amazing place. Best Indian food so far in London. Authentic, fresh and light. Definite recommend. The service was impeccable. The waiter and usher were kind and professional. We were the only customers but saw quite a few people ordering take outs. My favorite was the Paneer Butter Masala and the garlic naan. Haven’t had Peshawari naan this good in a long time. Okra fries were truly a delight. The tandoori flowers is underwhelming though. Will definitely visit again.”

“Tasty food for a great price. Surprised rice didn't come with the meal, but only £3 extra. Had a large menu to chose from. Pictures are on Toffee Sticky Pudding, Vegetable Masala and Vegetable Curry. Masala was almost sweet, especially compared to curry.”

“Excellent Indian food - portions aren’t very big but the flavors are spot on. Love the laziz pasanda, the bhindi achari, the lotus stem chaat and the mango lassi. Good service and cute decor. Will be back!”

“The best Indian food around! Tons of options on the menu, very rich in flavour, for reasonable prices. Staff is very friendly, best if you check with them about a 'spicy' level of each dish (some meals are extremely hot). Option to bring your own drinks to the restaurant is a big plus!”

“A restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine. Food items are tasty . Very delicious brinjal preparation is their specialty. Very tasty paneer preparation. Liked the fish curry also. Starters are awesome. Neat and clean wash rooms. Space is comparatively smaller. Nice and silent environment around.”

“Well you get used to Indian restaurants all being much the same, but at Mahirah they have broken the mould and the difference is in their service. We were greeted well, but rather than being left to peruse the menu, were intuitively offered poppadoms and of course beers (two blokes out for an Indian, how did they guess). After ordering we were left to chat over our poppadoms and pickles (5 beautifully different ones) and quietly advised when our main course was ready, but also encouraged not to rush, but to let them know when we were ready; this was a really nice touch. It might sound like an afterthought but the food was all just terrific, my curry being fresh and spicy but not spicy hot for example. Great food, great service, Great Scott, go give it a try.”

“Amazing flavours, not too spicy nor greasy. Good quality of lamb in the dhansak. Interesting naan of the day with truffle and cheese. Mostly good value for money except maybe the prawn starter which only had 3 (large) prawns for £9. Friendly and efficient service for takeaway”

“This Indian Restaurant is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Sunbury on Thames. We truly enjoyed our meal there this afternoon with family visiting from Brisbane, Australia. The waiters were professional as always. The food is simply the best. Always fresh, delicious and truly authentic. Every mouthful was simply divine. We will be back again for sure. Highly recommended their vegetarian thali. The plus point is, parking is ample and its located a short walk from the scenic river view.”

“Kolapata’s food is delicious. We had kichuri, dal, shutki vorta, rice and beef chap, beef vuna and tea. Authentic Bengali food, which we have enjoyed. Service is amazing as well. Staffs are very friendly. Must go place.”

“Come here regularly and it is by far the best Indian in the area. The staff are attentive and friendly, always a good atmosphere and the food is some of the best I’ve had. The Karma Sutra is nothing like I’ve had anywhere else and the lamb in the dish was amazingly tender. I cannot wait for my next visit!”

'Accidently' found this place not realising I had last been here 4 years ago and had a not particularly good experience. What a difference this time. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly member of staff. They made space for us even though busy All my favourite dishes were on the menu, including Mogo and chilli panier. The difference was like night and day The food was really good. There was so much lamb in the biryani that we could not finish it. Staff was just the right amount of attentive during the evening. So glad we stumbled back here and look forward to coming again.”

If you're in London looking for authentic Indian meal then this is it. This is the cafe for a hostel so food is served only at fixed times . Please check the timings before you go.”
