Grovelands Park
● Open44 Queen Elizabeth's Drive, London N14 6RD, United Kingdom“Lovely park! Perfect place for a walk. You can easily spend a whole day in there having a lot of activities you can do for free. Whether is fishing, running, gold or exercises using the machines, the park is gonna keep you busy. I've seen two playgrounds, one in the park and the other one in the forest, so they will never get bored. I've seen a variety of birds on the lake and around it, I was actually sitting on bench and enjoying the view. It is a very peaceful place and I think I just found the place to enjoy my free time. Very beautiful place”

Elsewhere - Herne Hill
● Open1A Half Moon Lane, London SE24 9JU, United Kingdom“Mum and I had a lovely morning here catching up on work and consuming multiple flat whites (we only had the intention of one but they were so good we couldn't resist a second) and having lovely conversations with the sweet and funny barista Sarah, who made us feel so welcome - I'll definitely be making a regular trip back when Sarah is working! I love the Brockley Elsewhere for the food but the Herne Hill one has such nice ambience and staff, so its a shame they don't do the food too!”

National Trust - Osterley Park and House
● Closed“What a lovely place! We live so close but never actually visited. The kids all loved it!! Lovely paths and tracks as well as some good off-road walks/paths through fields and small wooded areas! The terrain all round is reasonably flat so easy to get round with a pram or junior bicycles and even easier for larger bikes or scooters. There is a a nice coffee shop which serves a good range of drinks and snacks/bites and the prices are reasonable. There is also a lovely seated area with plenty of benches just outside. Handy toilets are also close by - just be aware of timings. One surprise was the pretty cool bike track which has some good turns and undulations which is suitable for all ages - even with stabilisers!! Car park has plenty of space and again fixed pricing is reasonable, whether you want to visit for a couple of hours or spend the entire day! Really enjoyable, relaxing and highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again.”

Essex Wildlife Trust, Bedfords Park Nature Discovery Centre
● Closed“Great park. Probably the best in the area to be honest. Long walks, great views and a real sense of being away from it all... even though it’s only 5 minutes away from the outskirts of Romford. Oh, plus the deer compound and the secret walled garden. Just to add to the allure!!! Update... they now have some new play equipment near the main car park. Fantastic!”

Maria Montessori Nursery School
● Closed“Excellent Montessori. I tried quite a few others but found this the best. Good sized facility and genuinely concerned teachers who invest a lot in each child. My child attended for 1 year before we had to leave for overseas, but I was happy throughout with the care and education. The children are taught in a stimulating yet relaxed environment. The teachers are calm and professional. My daughter enjoyed her time there and I highly recommend this institution.”

Queen's College
● Open“I can’t say enough positive things about Queen’s College. My daughter started this year and, after two challenging pandemic years and moving from her lovely neighbourhood pre-prep school to a “big school” I have been blown away at their pastoral care and genuine support and positivity. The headmaster is strong in vision but human and approachable. In a year that has seen the departures of incredible heads from very established London public schools, he remains very much in command of his ship. From the very first video tour (we weren’t able to visit in person due to COVID regs) where the he told us, with humour and self depreciation, that a recent graduate had been accepted to Oxbridge but selected a different university option “every Headmasters dream” to the first parents meeting when he addressed maybe 100+ of us with a tooth emergency and half-numbed face he handles challenges with aplomb. The parents are culturally diverse and kind - genuinely helpful to one another. The school’s central location draws families from all over London - which is also a huge positive for the girls! The girls get study-buddies and big sisters and have many opportunities to work together and meet people throughout the school. What better preparation is there for the world they will enter than to understand, appreciate and celebrate cultural and individual differences and similarities and knowing we are all in it together? My last worry about joining was the inaccessibility to sports grounds - a challenge with any central school - but Queen’s has done a great job of creating meaningful sporting opportunities for the girls with after school clubs and squads offering loads of chances to try something new or improve a skill and lots of exercise time. I’ve learned, over the years, that not every school is a fit for every child - and the school that you went to or your daughters best friend attends might not be right for you. And Queen’s won’t be right for everyone - but I have to say, if you judge a school by looking forward and not looking back Queen’s is , and Queen’s girls are, going places.”
