The food was amazing my sandwiches was on soft fluffy white bread! It was so good! The cafe was clean all the tables were wiped down no sticky bits. The staff were friendly and chatty talking to me about my child. Made me feel welcome. Go check it out!!!”

● Closed“This cafe occupies a corner of Barking Learning Centre (an "up market" version of Barking Library) and is staffed mostly by local people who have learning disabilities, and are given training. The chef is professional and provides a good a la carte selection, as well as daily lunchtime specials. My favourite is the Relish Burger (comes as beef or veggie), but does tend to put too much salt on the chips (what any American cousins reading this would mistakenly call "fries"), so ask him to hold off (there are salt cellars on the tables!), which comes with a decent salad garnish. Not sure of opening hours, but closes mid afternoon. It can be booked for evening functions. Prices £-££.”

I find this place to be quite spacious from the inside so chances are you’ll find a table pretty easily. It also has the option for outdoor seatings in which are fantastic during summer time. Leonardo Hotel Croydon
● Open“We really enjoyed our stay at Leonardo. We booked a double room and paid on arrival, we were then told that we had a free upgrade to a king-size room which was a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated! The rooms are clean, light, and great-sized. The bathroom has a shower and a bath, with a lovely illuminated mirror. We had water and biscuits provided every day during our stay and a working fridge which can be used. There is a bar and restaurant which we didn't use but was always busy which is a good sign, and there is a small shop with snacks and drinks should you require anything. The hotel is situated a 5 min walk from Croydon East station, and takes about 30 minutes to get into London, making it a good base in my opinion. Equally, Croydon centre is a 5 minute walk and there is an array of places to eat and drink nearby. Would stay here again and would recommend.”

Hinge on the door of the wardrobe needs screwing back into place, but small petty things. Would 100% stay here again. Especially with it because a stones throw away from Thorpe Park & Legoland.”

● Open“Honestly one of the best budget hotels I've stayed at. Much nicer than so many of the more expensive ones I've stayed it. Everything about it was lovely. Quick and easy service. Beds were very comfy. Bathroom was lovely. Loads of space for storage. The only thing was there wasn't a room service menu! But I could have asked for one if I wanted it. It was just great! Wish I could have stayed longer than a night.”

● Open“We stayed here for one night for my nephews birthday. On arrival we were met by the lovely Raj, the Deputy Manager. Check in wasn’t til 3 but we agreed to pay a small fee for early check in. Raj kindly upgraded us to a family room with a beautiful view and also gave the kids some chocolates. He even offered to put the birthday banners in the room whilst we went shopping. Summary - great hotel; spacious and clean, friendly staff and a short distance to the nearest tube stop and shops and restaurants.”

Was a perfect base for working at the London Film Studios. We did upgrade to a premier plus room as would be there 3 nights and it was exactly as described. Reception staff were helpful with extending our stay and making sure the room was kept refreshed.”
