Bad Branch State Nature Preserve

Managed by The Nature Conservancy and the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission, the 2,639-acre preserve protects the scenic beauty of the gorge and a variety of rare and uncommon species. Hiking trails lead visitors through hemlock forests, dense thickets of rhododendron, and stunning rock formations. The preserve is also home to the Cumberland arrow darter, a state endemic fish species.
