The Sanford Museum & Planetarium, located at 117 East Willow Street in Cherokee, Iowa, is a popular tourist attraction and educational institution. Open to the public on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on weekends from Noon to 5:00 p.m., the museum features exhibits on Archaeology, Art, Astronomy, Geology, History, Natural History, and Paleontology. Founded in 1951 through a generous trust fund established by Mr. & Mrs. W.A.
