The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) partners with the Park Department to develop and manage Fairfield Lakes, which are stocked with bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish. A fishing license is required to fish in the lakes, with the northeast lake being stocked with rainbow trout every spring. Park amenities include a handicap accessible water fountain and restroom, as well as a walkway to the northwest lake with 2 handicap-fishing pads. At the south end of the park, visitors can access Wildcat Creek for canoeing. This scenic river is designated as a State Scenic River, one of only three in Indiana. Mowed trails surround the lakes for leisurely walks and the use of boats with electric trolling motors is allowed.
