Richmond Shakespeare Festival
The Richmond Shakespeare Festival, located in Richmond, Indiana, is dedicated to providing high-quality Shakespeare programming in East Central Indiana. Each year, the festival collaborates with local schools to bring live performances of Shakespeare plays to over 700 high school students in Wayne County. In addition to educational programming, the festival also offers one-person shows by nationally recognized Shakespearean actors, community readings, workshops, and a film series. Due to rising production costs, the festival has made the decision to suspend the creation of original, full-cast productions in order to focus on offering free Shakespeare performances for the community through Shakespeare in the Park and live performances in schools. The festival is grateful for the support of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and the community over the past 10 years.
