Howard School
β OpenHoward School, located in Brownsburg, Indiana, United States, has been a part of Indiana's history since 1881. Originally founded by Clifford "Jack" Belcher, the schoolhouse fell into disrepair after closing in 1916. However, since 2004, a group of dedicated citizens have restored it to its original purpose as a living history museum. Visitors of all ages can experience what school was like in 1881 at Howard School. We are saddened by the passing of our founder, Jack Belcher, whose vision brought Howard School to life. His legacy lives on through the school's mission to celebrate Boone County's past. The schoolhouse also serves as a community center, hosting events such as wedding showers, anniversary celebrations, and educational programs for children.
