New Albany Building Commn
The New Albany Building Commission is a local government office located at 142 East Main Street in New Albany, Indiana, United States. The building commission board members meet on the first Monday of each month at 4:00 P.M. Fence permits are issued through the Planning & Zoning department. For fire protection system installations, applications can be submitted to Building Commissioner at Suite 206. Other services offered by the institution include Mayor's Office, Education, Police, Fire, Animal Services, and Public Right of Way Access. The institution also works on projects to develop and preserve the New Albany area, including partnerships with Floyd County Government, Harvest Homecoming, and Historic New Albany. Visitors can also explore the Greg Mills Memorial Tree Trails and the New Albany Shoreline.
Silver Street Park
Silver Street Park is a newly developed sports facility and park located at 2043 Silver Street in New Albany, Indiana. Situated on 14.875 acres, this park offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor amenities for sports and recreation. The indoor sports turf and concessions area measures 50 yards by 50 yards, perfect for various sports activities. Outdoor features include a football/soccer stadium with a press box, bleachers, lights, and scoreboards, two basketball courts, a skate park, splash pad, playground, 1/2 mile walking path, 3 shelters, and an entertainment pavilion. This park is ideal for hosting camps, practices, games, leagues (such as soccer, whiffle ball, and kickball), running/walking events, corporate outings, and more. The capacity levels for the park are as follows: Turf – 496, Hall/Concessions – 146, Total – 642. The Parks and Recreation Department's main office is also located at Silver Street Park.
