La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Indianapolis Downtown

"I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. Follow-up to response from the owner: If it is your goal to provide the best lodging experience to your valued guests, then this wouldn't have happened in the first place. The saying is that you get what you pay for. This is proven to be true at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Indianapolis Downtown. With lower prices comes lower costs. Unfortunately, you've chosen to keep your costs low in the staffing department. From your housekeepers, to your front desk staff, that's where you need to start improving things. I was in for business and had no time to deal with this issue. However, you'd think that during turndown service, the housekeeper would have noticed the lube handprints on the headboard, the hair in the bathtub, the spotty mirror, or the broken drain. Jerome seems like a nice guy. But he's treating your front desk like the checkout counter at a 7-11. I hope that all La Quinta Inns are not as bad as this one was."

"Just checked in and they gave me a room someone else was in. It's midnight. I was able to walk right into someone else's room. Real scary. Giving 3 stars for service instead of 1 only because the front desk attendant was amazing and took care of everything. I'm surprised the hotel doesn't have a system in place to prevent mistakes. Got a clean, empty room the second time around but smells like a natural gas leak. Rooms aren't well ventilated. Should have just gotten a motel 6 or something. Price is too high for what it is. Avoid this one, there are plenty of hotels in the area."

"We get in, and the hotels “free parking” is limited to the first 15 or so customers then you have to pay for overflow parking, next our room smells like smoke, next the soap is out and the person at the front desk says we have to wait for the morning which is 11 hours away to talk to the manager to get more, next we call down for late checkout and the person at the front desk says we have to wait for the manager to see if we can checkout late… at that point don’t have a front desk person until the manager shows up because they cannot do anything until the manager shows up. Having no soap is unacceptable. Having no parking when advertising free parking is unacceptable. Having no help is unacceptable. Basically this place sucks! Don't waste your money stay somewhere else even if it cost a little more."

"Rented a king room for the weekend. The 'free parking' is in a lot where the spaces are can-opener engineered for anything above an economy car, and the adjacent lot where you can also have 'free parking' ends up charging you daily because the check-in clerk doesn't explain their system well. Bathroom sink in room was nearly completely clogged and drained incredibly slow. The iron in the room had some sort of substance on the face that would stain even a black shirt. And the best part is the elevator that barely fits two people and sounds like it is going to come apart. IF you do have to use this hotel, make sure the front-desk person explains their parking system and for your life's sake, USE THE STAIRS. Won't ever use a Wyndham chain again."

"Parking was easy in this location, and the rooms were comfortable, clean, and tidy- a bargain for the price at $120. The only complaints I would have were a slow draining sink and some chips in the bathtub paint, and those aren't real complaints. Early Check-in at 4am was a $60+ fee, but that's half the price of a whole 2nd night so I won't complain. Unfortunately, as a Wyndham member the staff we met weren't sure how to actually use my information to reward any points, and each time I tried to catch the manager at the desk they were unavailable. Staff took down my information so that they would be able to retroactively reward my points and I'll keep an eye to see if that happens."
