Established in 1983, the park sits on land that was originally purchased in 1844 for the town's first schoolhouse, the County Seminary. Over the years, it served as the location of the Second Ward School before being demolished in 1969. In 2019, Seminary Park underwent a renovation that added pathways, Edison lighting, a new gazebo, park benches, and landscaped flower beds.
