"I grew up in this community, around the corner on 608 Fillmore...right next to the old Frank Loyd Wright home. This church has been a beautiful master piece since I was a baby! As kids, we always respected the grounds and this beautiful piece of architecture! This community developed and prepared me to become a high school principal in Houston Texas! I am proud to call this neighborhood home. My only regret, I never was able to visit this church. I frequented the Lutheran church in front of my house often- vacation bible school was mandatory in my house! My home church was St. Timmothy Community. Peace and blessings! Martin Luther Drayton"
"A beautiful old style Cathedral. It has history for many people and their descendants from the Gary area. My mother and her sisters attended school here. There was plenty of parking and safety was not an issue. A beautiful example of cathedral style architecture on a smaller scale than the massive ones in Chicago and New York. Much easier to get to and you can be assured of a seat on Sunday."
"The Cathedral itself is awesome but I probably wouldn't wander too far from the Cathedral as it's in a really rough part of Gary. Thankfully, there's a police station across from the parking lot and I've never heard of anyone having trouble"
