Caleb Mills House
Located at 301 West Wabash Avenue in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the Caleb Mills House is a historic institution named after Caleb Mills, the first professor at Wabash College. Mills played a crucial role in establishing Wabash as an independent college and is known as the father of the public school system in Indiana. Built in 1836, the house served as Mills' residence for 43 years before being deeded to the College in 1926. After undergoing renovation in 1993, the Caleb Mills House now functions as a small guest house and entertainment venue for campus visitors. The first floor features a cozy living room with Victorian furniture, a grand piano, and a marble fireplace, as well as a dining room that seats 12 people comfortably. The second floor offers two guest suites, each with its own bath/shower, including the Caleb Mills bedroom with two queen-sized beds and the Frank Hugh Sparks bedroom with one queen-sized bed.
