Tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, it is often referred to as "The Secret Garden" due to its peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. With woodland plant life and mature trees, Austin Gardens offers a tranquil escape for visitors. The park is home to 285 trees within its 3.64 acre boundary, providing a lush and green environment for all to enjoy. In 2015, the Park District of Oak Park constructed a 2,100 square foot Environmental Education Center within the park, offering nature day camps, educational programs, and community events.
