The Goodwill Store and Donation Center located at 1145 East Main Street in Carbondale, Illinois, is more than just a thrift store. Our vision is to create a community where every individual has the opportunity to learn, work, and reach their full potential. Through our mission of changing lives through the power of work, we annually serve over 11,000 individuals in the bi-state area of Missouri and Southern Illinois. With 44 stores and an auto donations program, Goodwill generates revenue to fund MERS Goodwill job training and employment services. Additionally, we operate The Excel Center®, a free public high school that offers adults the chance to earn a real high school diploma.
SIU Craft Shop
The SIU Craft Shop, located at 1255 Lincoln Drive in Carbondale, Illinois, is a creative art and craft space open to SIU students, faculty, staff, and the southern Illinois community. The Craft Shop also has a frame shop for custom framing needs and a Birdhouse Factory that provides volunteer opportunities to help endangered bird species. The shop operates under the mission of promoting kindness through its Random Token of Kindness program, where volunteers create clay coins to distribute as rewards for acts of kindness. Overall, the SIU Craft Shop is a vibrant and inclusive space for art and creativity in the community.
