"It has been a good 3 years, but kids could be distracted by all the fighting and negative behavior. Take it from me it has happened lot in my 3 years being a student here, but the teachers have exotic ways of teaching different things. This school is not really that bad but it could improve"

"I placed my daughter in this school assuming that it would be a great environment, for her coming out of a private christian setting. I found after 2 months that I was so wrong and nothing else could have been further from the truth. My daughter was in 5th grade, and the kids were so unruly and she was being bullied everyday because she did not curse and use foul language. She also has great character and was once engaged in learning, but know she isn't as she became so distracted by the bullying and behavior of the other students in the class that we have to work extremely hard to get her back to where she needs to be. Despite the constant bullying the teacher and administration failed to do anything to make the situation better. I will likely be removing my daughter from here and putting her back in a private setting. I have no idea why this school is revered so highly, this was the worst experience for us going into the CPS school system."

"My son attends Beasley's Regional Gifted Center and he likes it. I wish there were more parents involved, but I understand work schedules may not allow more parents to participate in PAC and LSC meetings. The parents are nice when we see each other at birthday parties. His teacher, Ms. Hickman is awesome and her classroom is well managed with no aide. I can't imagine having control over that many little people at one time. The curriculum is definitely 2 grades above the regular grade level, but my son and the other students are keeping up just fine. It seems like a lot of work, but we're making it work! It is definitely an adjustment. There are usually four worksheets of homework per day, a book report once per week and a poem that must be written, memorized and recited. There is a spelling test every week with approximately 15 words, some are up to 5 syllables. There's a project once or twice per month. They are constantly having book fairs, which is nice, but we have no more room in our house for books. I had my heart set on Lenart, but I have absolutely no complaints about Beasley's gifted program. I am not sure about the classes taught at grade level."

"This school is decent i have been going here for 5 years and i believe that this school can become something. if they test every year this school can stay the best. also they need more teachers soon and we need teachers that dont give speeches and they teach. We need teachers that understand what we are going through and even though some classes are different notice we are all still children."
