"I had an emergency and I was sent to a hospital close to our home by ambulance. I wasn’t concerned until I was sent from the ER to a room in the non-advocate hospital. My BP was extremely low , fever high and I was having pain and other symptoms that we were concerned about. The nurses were good, but I had not seen the doctor for several hours and he didn’t have a game plan or explain anything to me. My wife was so concerned she stopped by our primary care doctor’s office and was greeted by Liz at the front desk. She immediately called Alexis, the RN. Alexis was able to open my file from this local hospital I was admitted to and spent 30 minutes going over all the details and reports. She gave her some great advice to help talk to the nurses and get the doctor to do more for my pain and find out what the cause was. I can’t tell you how lucky I was that this advocate office in buffalo grove was there for us. Even though I was being seen by a different group. Thank you to all your staff and for taking the time for us. We’ve been with this office for over 30 years and have always had the best care available in this area. Thank you to everyone in the this office. We try appreciate you."

"Horrible experience. I have been a patient of Dr Melnick for 30 years. Haven’t been able to contact him or anyone in the office directly for 2 years now. They have canceled my appointment and blood work/labs 3 times in a row. They also just called today to say sorry but not offer another time for my appointment - what a waste of both our time. And that was from a manager! Ive asked to have my doctor call me countless times through their call center and in writing through the live well appt and they refuse. So don’t think you’ll ever chat with your doc. Thats a thing of the past with advocate. They even deleted my written requests from their Live Well App. So if you ever think your communications with your doctor are secure in thenLive Well App - They most definitely are not. I’d stay away from this practice. You certainly wont get any attention. And good luck with your appointments! They more often than not just don’t happen :( Dr Melnick, I use to trust you and your practice (for decades). Not sure why you've changed so much over the last few years and I’ll wonder what to do about my meds and dosage??? Doesn’t seem to be a concern over there. Cancel cancel cancel. I call to reschedule and they say they cannot because my other appt was never canceled. So i confirmed and they called again to cancel and request that i reschedule. Your team needs help! Change your contact process too - forcing folks through the LIVEWell App doesnt always work. In addition, I just received a CLAIM FORM Due to my personal information being exposed to improper 3rd parties. What the heck??? As you might imagine, I will no longer use that App. UPDATE 1/23/24 - i secured a new appointment! However, waited an hour plus then to be walked into a screening room (finally!!!) - then the nurse walks in and states that Dr. melnick is 90min to 2hours behind!!! What the what??? So you want me to sit in this room for 2 hours??? I left (as did another guy that was before me) - Goodbye Dr. Melnick - i found a new Doctor. Advocate ops really made a mess of your practice. Sad."

"My primary care doctor is excellent and the staff at this location is friendly. What I find extraordinarily frustrating is the strong smell of fragrance/perfume at the office and in the waiting room. Whenever I visit this facility, the fragrance triggers my asthma and seems to coat my clothing, skin, hair, etc. -- a bit like walking into a bath and body works or sephora (which I never do!) There is a growing body of scholarly research which links synthetic fragrance to a range of medical conditions, from asthma to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I don't understand why a medical facility needs to have a custom fragrance or smell -- be it through an air freshener system and/or fragrant cleaning products."

"Have had a pretty decent experience with Dr Melnick. They follow-up quite well and keep labs & stuff on track nicely. I never wait for more than 10-15 mins for my scheduled appointments (usually scheduled in the afternoons). Also, I came to get bloodwork done and it was a quick and pleasant experience!"

"Second time in a year I arrived 15 minutes early as requested and was still sitting in the waiting room 45 minutes later. For simple follow ups. I have a schedule too, a simple “we’re running an hour late” text would be nice. Think I need to look for another provider, this service isn’t worth the drive. Sorry Mike, we had a good run but I’m done."
