The park underwent a major renovation in 2003, funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The renovation included the transformation of the tennis courts into Oak Lawn's first skate park, as well as the addition of a new picnic shelter, path, fencing, playground enhancements, and a sand-volleyball court. Other improvements included new basketball and volleyball courts, ADA-compliant playground equipment, a family picnic shelter, mini spray pad, and walking paths with fitness stations.
