The Jerry F. Costello National Great Rivers Research and Education Center Confluence Field Station is a university institution located at 1 Confluence Way in Alton, Illinois, United States. The field station, dedicated in 2010, is a model of green construction with minimal environmental impact, integrated renewable energy systems, and internal recycling systems. Situated at the confluence of the Illinois, Missouri, and Mississippi Rivers, the 32,000-square-foot research facility contains laboratories, classrooms, and riverside access along its eco road. Phase II of construction was completed in 2014, adding new hydrologic and wildlife laboratories, office space, storage, and a conference room.
