The Green Living Room
The Green Living Room is a cafe located at 6431 South Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is part of Blacks in Green (BIG), a national network for environmental justice and economic development. The institution is currently restoring the childhood home of Civil Rights martyr Emmett Till into a museum honoring the Till Family legacy. The Green Living Room also serves as an event and gathering space with an Afro-centric lounge, conference room, classroom, and outdoor garden. Additionally, they offer a vacation rental called The Great Migration Guest House, featuring 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and garden. The institution aims to increase community wealth and well-being in the face of climate change.
