"Well, that's the last time I'm ever going to buy groceries here! I find it very off-putting to have an armed security guard approach me, and belittle me for "not reading the sign about the bag policy" by the front door. My bag? An extra small messenger bag, less than 8 inches wide, used to carry my winter gloves, wallet, and car keys. Smaller than most women's purses. It never even occurred to me that this would be a problem, as I've shopped at hundreds of places without issue. Fine if you want to have a bag policy. But I will absolutely NOT tolerate someone being rude to me about it. It's bad enough implying someone is a criminal by telling them that they "must check that bag". But being rude to me and implying I'm supposed to read all of the dozens of pieces of paper you have posted by the front door of the store? Give me a break. We don't live around this store, but it's near where we get our hair cut, and my spouse needed some special items such as banana peels and culantro -- which aren't available at most of the stores near our home. This place was recommended to us for these items specifically. I'm going to research an alternate store when we need specialty hispanic groceries next time -- probably will try out Guanajuato. But I can tell you, I'm not going back to La Chiquita. That really sucks if you have a theft problem that's bad enough to feel like you have such policies and feel like you have to hire such aggressive security guards. But I'm not going to put up with that. I'm no criminal, and I refuse to be treated like one."
"A supervisor named Yolanda was ignorant enough to come up to me, checking on my baby in his car seat on the shopping cart, telling me his bottle fell to check if my baby was real, because she told security to check our diaper bag since she seen I was upset for the fact being that we come here all the time and not once EVER has anyone felt the need to check my diaper bag. Security then went up to her letting her know it was in fact a diaper bag with baby belongings in there. Do better Yolanda. Not everyone is a thief."
