Quincy National Cemetery

Established as a national cemetery in 1882, Quincy National Cemetery has a rich history dating back to the Civil War era. Originally part of Woodland Cemetery, it was elevated to national status to honor and memorialize Union soldiers. In 1899, the cemetery was relocated to its current site within Graceland Cemetery, continuing its legacy as a soldiers' lot. Quincy National Cemetery is dedicated to honoring the memory of nearly 10 million veterans through the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM), a digital platform where you can post tributes, share military service timelines, and upload images and documents.
