“The view from the room was stunning with a lovely bed and bathroom. The staff were attentive and quick. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and beautiful. If I could offer one warning, it seems like they only offer a la carte breakfast on the weekdays. To go from a virtually limitless buffet one day to an extremely limited menu the next day was jarring.”

“Rooms were great and spacious, the reception and the staff were lovely and the kitchen had amazing coffee and breakfast. Walking distance to most things in the town. If only the view from my window wasn't a brick wall 1m away, but what to do! Would definitely stay again”

“Excellent location, walking distance to everything. Room was very spacious, quiet, modern and clean. Very grateful for the unexpected early check in on Friday and 12 checkout on sunday. Only negative was only 2 instant coffees. Would definitely book again.”

“We stayed at room 1221 over the weekend and it was absolutely lovely staying there. Location was close to everything. The view was amazing. Room was very good size for twin deluxe. Their shower gel and lotion smells amazing. The bathroom needed a bath mat i think to prevent slips for safety purposes.”

“Goodness me this place is awesome! Great location on Collins Street means you’re close to shopping (Cat & Fiddle Arcade) and food options (Pot Sticker Dumplings, Little India, Cafes) and easy walk around the city centre. 5 min downhill walk to the hospital (if that’s why you’re in Hobart….) Lovely and professional staff swapped our room for one with a bath and balcony and reconfigured the beds from king to 2 singles no fuss. Brought us room service water after the kitchen had closed, beautiful people. Bonus – if you stay on a Monday night the Hobart Bellringers practice at St Davids Cathedral in Macquarie Street (one street over) so that was amazing to hear. Highly recommend.”

“Went for a birthday. Meal was very nice. I got Garoic Prawn Parmi with Veg. Sauce on top of parmi was nice and cheesy. Didn't stay in any rooms, not sure if they have any.”

“An excellent hotel located right in the center of downtown Hobart. It is less than 30 mins from the airport and valet parking is available (and highly recommended). The rooms are modern and spacious and very comfortable. Loved the bathroom amenities as well. The buffet breakfast is great and you have a lot of options to choose from. The staff are very friendly and ready to help with any requests you might have. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting Hobart and are looking for a central location to stay!”

“Stayed here on Monday night to Tuesday Morning on 24 to 25th July 2023, it had a prestige feel to it compared to other hotels i've stayed at for work. Central to everything, friendly staff, very clean.”

“I had to stay here when Virgin delayed the last flight for 2.5 hours from Melbourne. I didn't have the energy to drive back to home after midnight. Actually the hotel was beyond my expectations. It is clean, comfortable, east to access and for its price it is all right. The room that I first had(120) was very noise because of the central AC/ventilation system. I asked them if they can change the room, the reception put me into a quiet room. Good service and comfortable rooms. Especiall, the beds are firm which is very good(healthy) for the spine. I highly recommend this hotel if you have an early flight.”

“My husband and I held our small 28 person wedding here in January. We booked the whole hotel exclusively so majority of our guests could stay the whole weekend. We were all blown away by the exceptional service we received, not only on our wedding day, but for the whole weekend. The level of service here is so hard to find. Everyone was constantly greeted by name by the very friendly staff and asked if they wanted barista-made coffee or refreshments. They had a turndown service including sleepy tea, daily treats and an all day pastry table. The whole hotel was beautiful and very clean/maintained. Everyone commented on how comfy the beds were! Marc (the manager) is extremely professional and hardworking. He helped us organise our wedding from interstate with multiple video calls and emails. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he always put our mind at ease. He ensured our wedding day ran smoothly, even with last minute changes and wet weather. We also had multiple video calls with the head chef Tony who was very accomodating with the menu and any dietary requirements. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it! We couldn’t recommend the Islington hotel enough if you want an intimate wedding where everyone feels special!”

“Absolutely unique hotel and experience. The hotel exudes a warm welcome, from the spacious communal sitting rooms, to the deliciously aromatic (and well stocked) kitchen, to the comfortable and elegant dining room, to the luxurious, tastefully furnished rooms. It was like coming home, if you lived in a gorgeous, grand home of great taste. We had high expectations and they were universally exceeded. Thank you Brock, Ashley and staff. “We are a family of four with two teenagers and were on vacation in Richmond. We had dinner at Prospect Private Restaurant and it was FABULOUS. Each meal, each glass of wine delivered an explosion of flavours. The staff was marvellous, friendly and highly professional. We can't wait for the next time!”

“Definitely would stay here again. Great room with a nice view. Clean and spacious room. Delicious food at the restaurant. Prime location. Bathroom needs better lighting, hard to put your makeup on. Needs a full length mirror as well. No light in the shower area. Bathroom does look good but the dark tiles can be too much with the bad lighting.”

“I must say that at first the shared bathroom did not please me at all, however I was lucky not to share it simultaneously with anyone, apart from this, an excellent location, very comfortable rooms, excellent staff, congratulations to all the guys, very friendly and attentive. “We stumbled upon this pub at the right time, Sunday lunch. How happy we were when they said gluten free food was available, Steak, chips and salad, perfect and delicious. Great atmosphere with heating out the back area.”

“Great location, right by the harbour and super close to lots of restaurants and Salamanca. Excellent staff. Oh and the breakfast is delicious, especially the hot food selection. We were upgraded to a deluxe harbour view room by Callum, which was a lovely gesture. The hotel gym is great, and the wifi signal is very reliable throughout the hotel. In fact, the entire hotel is very nicely decorated and our room was very spacious, with a rain shower and a spa bath. Free parking outside the hotel is a bonus.”

“Astor Grill consistently provides fine dining with an extensive and affordable wine list. Food is always delicious and consistent. Rocky is the consummate host. A wonderful relaxing venue without intrusive music or staff”

“So happy with our choice to stay at Hotel Verge for our stop over in Launceston. Friendly, helpful staff in reception and in the dining area. We ate our evening meal and breakfast in the on-site restaurant and can't speak highly enough of the menu, chef and wait staff. Fantastic to have these facilities on premise and not to have to go out in the cold after a long day of travel. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, great bed, very quiet , modern design and lovely views out over Albert Hall and horizon. Nice touches including Kevin Murphy products in bathroom. We had no issue with parking and would highly recommend staying at Hotel Verge. Launceston you must be proud of this local gem. Hope to return again and stay a little longer next time. Thank you.”

“The hotel is very old and was built in 1834 by convicts. It's has a lot of character and charm. The location is perfect and is close to the city and Salamaca markets. The rooms have high ceilings and are spacious. It has a tea room and bar The service of staff is very friendly too.”

“lovely folks in the old pub (much better environment in my opinion). we got the calamari and the seafood chowder. i liked both, but i could have gone for a chowder that didn’t have prawns that needed to have their tails removed in my soup. the overall vibe was excellent in the old pub with lots of touches and old regulars just sort of milling about. the newly built parts are nice, but they sort of take away from the historic aspect of it. our bartender wad lovely, she was helpful and friendly.”
