The staff are friendly and the app is pretty good too (which in Corona times is important). Considering how rough some of the pubs are around Rutherglen, they do well at keeping things civilized.”

“Was up with friends to see Paloma Faith live in concert at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow. Went for a meal at the McMillan as my daughter Rebecca works there. We were all most impressed with the steak dishes, lush desserts and cocktails. Wonderful service from all the Staff”

“A first time visiting this pub and restaurant. Was very surprised at the quietness of the bar area, which was great, and the lively atmosphere of the restaurant area. Staff were friendly and helpful as you would expect. Had a Brewdog non alcoholic beverage, which I found very refreshing. Meals as is the norm these days a little expensive, but saying that, they tasted great. A chicken and bacon crepe and a steak and ale pie, with real meat, were the eat of the day. Thoroughly enjoy the desserts, especially the apple and cinnamon crusted pie served hot with a dollop of ice cream. A must visit again venue.”

“Food was excellent. Really enjoyed our meat and chicken steak. The staff were really friendly. It initially took a little time to get us seated but we really enjoyed our food. The diner is cash only but there is an ATM opposite. Peri chips were really salty but the staff kindly got us a plate of plain chips without extra charge so we were able to accompany our meal well. Will be visiting again.”

“Nice quiet restaurant with good background music. Front end staff were very good and never felt over bearing. Ribeye steak was very well cooked and seasoned with a nice sear and melt in the mouth texture. The chocolate fudge cake was a good portion and was a good end to the meal. Very nice experience and my thanks to both the waiting staff and the chef's.”

“We recently had a celebration diner at The Long House Kilmarnock. We managed to get an early booking and was surprised that it was quite at this time though it got busier later on. We were warmly greeted by the staff and shown a rear table. The menu had plenty of choice and it had Halal food. The dishes that we ordered were varied but we all enjoyed what was served up to us. The only two faults that I would mention are that we were not asked if our meal was all right till we had finished it and also one of the large leaves of cabbage was well past its serving date. Would I go back ? Yes.”

“The location is wonderful, menu is also very nice, not as expensive as the other restaurants of cameron house. Always try to book in advance the views from the restaurants are amazing. The Staff is also very nice, there are couple of main car parks of Cameron house in the beginning, you don't need to park there, there is dedicated parking right besides the boat house.”
