"My daughter recently had a tonsillectomy performed by Dr. Keith Jackson at Mountain Lakes Medical Center outpatient surgery center. We had traveled over 2 hours each way from Marietta GA to Clayton GA to have Dr. Jackson perform this procedure. We had no prior experience with Mountain Lakes Medical Center. We were very pleased with the care my daughter received by Dr. Jackson and his surgical team. The surgery center was outstanding. Each member of the team took time to talk to my daughter before the surgery and during recovery to make sure she was comfortable and connect with her personally. They also took extra care to ensure my daughter’s comfort during her 2 hour ride home after surgery. Billing and payment processing was fair and facilitated. I highly recommend this surgery center!"

"This place is a joke. Counted 9 cars in the parking lot, at least 6 of them had to be staff related. Went in for a simple allergic reaction. Was told it would be hours before I could expect medical attention. Not to mention I overheard the nurses fighting over whether my situation was legitimate. They know they are the only place in town and take advantage by their lack of attention, customer service and professionalism."

"Went to Mtn Lakes for a Covid test in Oct, 2022. Gave them Medicare insurance card and was told we owed a $50 co-pay, which we paid at the time. The next time we heard from Mtn Lakes was in Aug, 2023 when we receive a statement from Mtn Lakes that our bill is SERIOUSLY past due and that we owe another $102. I called the number on the billing statement and spoke to the receptionist. She referred me to someone in the billing dept who I called about 20 times over the few weeks, repeatedly asking someone to call me back. Heard nothing. Then went to the location and again spoke to the receptionist. After speaking with someone on the phone, the receptionist told me that I needed to speak to a different person in the billing dept. I've now tried contacting them about 15 times over the past few weeks. Thus far, nothing. I talked to our medical insurer, and they told me that Mtn Lakes never filed for payment from them (as they should have). That leaves me with having to pay an extra $102 to keep my credit score from getting trashed because of total incompetence on the part of Mtn Lakes. I can't speak to the quality of medical care since all we got was a simple Covid test, but the billing area is awful. Don't be surprised if you get screwed financially by Mtn Lakes."

"The front desk staff were very friendly, I was brought back quickly, and the nurse who took my vitals was also kind. However, I was seen once by the doctor, never had any blood work taken, tests run, or even an IV placed, and the visit was probably no more than an hour long: they billed me almost $1,000 for this. I asked for an itemized bill after my visit, but it was incredibly vague and I felt it didn’t actually explain where the charges were coming from. I understand that any hospital will generally be expensive, but if you have the choice then absolutely go somewhere else."
