Mercer University School of Medicine, Columbus Campus is a state-of-the-art institution located at 1633 1st Avenue, Columbus, Georgia, United States. This campus was established in May 2019 to accommodate an increased enrollment of 240 Doctor of Medicine (MD) students over the next few years. The campus features a beautiful 6-acre site on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, with facilities including classrooms, offices, a medical library, gross anatomy lab, simulation center, research lab, and vivarium. The inaugural class of MD students began their studies at a temporary location in fall 2021 before moving to the new campus in December 2021. This new campus represents Mercer University School of Medicine's commitment to providing quality healthcare to Southwest Georgia and rural areas. The groundbreaking ceremony for the campus took place on September 3, 2020, and the project has been progressing steadily since then.
