Fannin County Scholarship Foundation
The Fannin County Scholarship Foundation, located at 730 East 2nd Street in Blue Ridge, Georgia, is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that no deserving Fannin County High School graduate is denied access to higher education due to financial need. Established in 1991, the Foundation provides scholarships to talented and deserving students, helping them take the first step towards their college education. Through donations from individuals and businesses, thousands of dollars in scholarships have been awarded over the years. The Foundation also recognizes academic success by gifting the top ten students of each graduating class and placing their names on a Top Ten plaque at the high school. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of community volunteers. With your help, we can continue to support the deserving students of Fannin County in achieving their educational goals.
Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club
The Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club, located at 124 Jones Street in Blue Ridge, Georgia, United States, has a rich history dating back to its establishment in July 1931. Initially sponsored by the Copperhill Kiwanis, the club has gone through various meeting locations, from the Blue Ridge Hotel to Earl’s Steakhouse and later Harry’s Steakhouse in the 1960’s. The club eventually found its current home at the Circle J Restaurant. The Club's property on Jones Street, known as the “Fairgrounds”, was generously donated by Mr. Eaton in 1957. This location has been the site of the Fannin County Fair for many years, featuring activities such as livestock judging, jellies and jams contests, and quilt displays. Even today, the back room of the Bingo hall is fondly referred to as the “Pig Barn” by longtime members.
