Named after Katharine Talbott Jones, Kit has served a diverse range of roles throughout her storied life, from a tugboat and ferry to a fireboat during World War II. Most notably, she played a pivotal role in coastal scientific research, supporting the work of renowned ecologists and oceanographers for decades.
