93rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment Monument
93rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment Monument Located in the historic heart of Chickamauga, Georgia, the 93rd Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment Monument stands as a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought in the pivotal battles of the American Civil War. This monument commemorates the 161st Anniversary of the Battle of Chickamauga, a critical engagement in 1863 where Union and Confederate forces clashed for control of Chattanooga, the "Gateway to the Deep South." Although the Confederates claimed victory at Chickamauga, the Union's subsequent triumph in Chattanooga marked a turning point in the war, leading one Confederate soldier to foretell, "This...is the death-knell of the Confederacy."
