Wilder Tower, located on Glenn-Viniard Road in Chickamauga, Georgia, is a popular tourist attraction within the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. The 85-foot tower, completed in 1903, is home to the Wilder Brigade Monument, dedicated to Union Colonel John Wilder's Lightning Brigade. The brigade was known for their use of the 7-shot Spencer repeating rifle, which was a game-changer during the Civil War. Visitors are allowed to climb to the top of the tower via a narrow, winding staircase with 136 steps, leading to an open-air observation deck. The tower is closed during certain times of the year and in bad weather conditions. The view from the top offers a glimpse of the surrounding forest and nearby monuments and cannons.
