Florrie Chappell Gymnasium
The Florrie Chappell Gymnasium, located in Americus, Georgia, is Georgia Southwestern's recreation and wellness facility. It offers state-of-the-art equipment for cardio, strength training, and functional fitness, free for students, staff, and faculty with a valid GSW ID. The gym is also open to the community for memberships or daily passes. Supervised by Student Fitness and certified Recreation and Wellness staff, the facility focuses on health, nutrition, mental wellness, and other wellness initiatives. The Helms Family Sports Bar and the Chill Lounge provide spaces for students to relax and recharge. Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00am to 10:00pm, and Friday through Sunday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Community memberships and daily guest passes are available. Proper fitness attire is suggested, and Fitness Supervisors are available to assist with equipment. GSW IDs are required for students, faculty, and staff, while community members must present a valid ID at check-in.
